I will never forget one day in 1991. At that time the war in the former Yugoslavia, my birthplace, began. The misery and misery of the people was devastating. A Christian from Keltern in southern Germany, handed me a VW Transporter filled with new clothes, shoes and other donations in kind.
His words still resonate in me today: "You will be able to do something good with it."When I was in Hungary with my wife, when thousands of refugees had sought shelter there, I was deeply touched. One granny was so happy about a chocolate, another about shoes! Since I have packed and until today I am gladly "postman" of relief goods. For me, giving is really a great pleasure! Thanking the people, I give thanks to God and to the donors. Again and again I emphasize: "I am only a postman."
